UG Degree Apostille & Attestation
A UG degree apostille is the certificate India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) adds to an Indian bachelor's degree – BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, BCA and others – after the state where the awarding university is located has authenticated it, so the degree is accepted in Apostille Convention countries. For the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and other non-Convention countries, bachelor degree attestation is needed instead: MEA attestation, then the destination embassy.

Overview of UG Degree Apostille & Attestation in India
Reliable Attestation is a private facilitation service in New Delhi. The bachelor's is usually the first qualification anyone abroad asks for: it decides work-permit levels, master's eligibility and many residence categories. Indian undergraduate study has also changed – four-year programmes with honours and exit awards now sit alongside the traditional three-year degree – and receiving bodies abroad sometimes treat them differently. We plan the route with that in mind. We are not a university, UGC, state department, MEA or embassy, and we have one office, in New Delhi. An Indian bachelor's degree is signed by the registrar or controller of examinations of the awarding university. Authorities abroad cannot verify that signature, so India uses a chain of stamps in which each office certifies the one before it. The education department of the university's state authenticates the registrar's signature; MEA then certifies the state officer's signature. For a Convention country, MEA's certificate – the UG degree apostille – is the final Indian step. For other countries, MEA attests instead, and the destination embassy legalises the degree after that; that chain is bachelor degree attestation.

Legalisation confirms signatures and seals. It does not confirm your grades, the number of years you studied, or whether a university abroad will treat your bachelor's as equal to its own. Those decisions belong to the receiving institution or authority.

Some states first want the university to confirm the award. The university checks its records and either stamps the original or sends confirmation to the state authority.
The department of the state where the university is located authenticates the registrar's signature. Where the university is connected to e-Sanad, online verification can replace the paper step.
MEA places an apostille for a Convention country or an attestation stamp for a non-Convention country. MEA states that it is not responsible for the contents of a document; it certifies the preceding signature.
For non-Convention countries, the destination embassy in New Delhi legalises the document after MEA. The UAE combines its embassy and foreign-ministry steps online; Kuwait completes the final step inside Kuwait.
We do not publish charges, because the total depends on the file. It includes any university verification, the state step, MEA, the embassy and foreign-ministry stages or the apostille, translation if needed, and courier or pickup and return. Charges that universities make for their own letters, duplicates or transcripts are separate. Our team shares the exact total after reviewing your documents.

Statutory & Consular Regulatory Framework
Educational certificate legalisation in India is governed under State Higher Education Department protocols, university statutes, and Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Consular, Passport and Visa (CPV) division directives. Legalisation validates the authenticity of the issuing registrar's signature and the institutional accreditation under UGC, AICTE, or State Technical Boards.
Destination Country Acceptance & Legalization Guidelines
GCC Nations (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain): Complete consular authentication chain required—State HRD -> MEA Attestation -> Destination Embassy -> MOFA. Note: UAE requires final MOFA attestation inside the UAE; Saudi Arabia requires cultural bureau verification; Germany requires APS certificate for student visas. Hague Apostille Nations (120+ countries including USA, UK, Australia, France, Canada): A single MEA Hague Apostille sticker is accepted without embassy stamping.
Verification Workflow for UG Degree Apostille & Attestation
From initial collection to MEA and diplomatic legalization, every step is executed with precision.
Check the document
Final degree or provisional certificate, names matching the passport, not laminated.
Identify the awarding university and its state
For an autonomous or affiliated college, the degree is usually awarded by the affiliating university, and its state decides the route.
Check e-Sanad
If the university is connected to MEA's e-Sanad system, online verification can replace the paper state step.
University verification, if needed
Some states ask the university to confirm the degree first.
State education department
The department of the university's state authenticates the registrar's signature. MEA's published list names, for example, the Regional Directors of Education for Delhi; in Kerala, educational certificates are authenticated through Norka Roots.
MEA
Applications go through MEA's authorised collection agencies or its Branch Secretariats and Regional Passport Offices; MEA does not accept documents directly from the public. MEA adds the apostille.
Return and check
The original comes back with the state stamp and the apostille.

What Is a UG Degree Apostille?
Bachelor Degree Certificate Apostille or Attestation: Which Do You Need?
| Destination | What your bachelor's usually needs | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain | Bachelor degree certificate apostille | Saudi Arabia joined on 7 December 2022 |
| UK, USA, Canada, Australia, most of Europe | Apostille, when a body asks for legalisation | Universities often want records sent directly instead |
| Germany | No apostille effect; APS India for study visas | Germany objected to India's accession |
| UAE | Bachelor degree attestation, then UAE online Embassy + MOFA | Laminated documents are not attested |
| Qatar | Attestation through Qatar's mission | Qualifications issued outside Qatar are attested by its mission in the issuing country |
| Kuwait | Attestation through the Kuwait Embassy | Final ministry step usually in Kuwait |
| China | MEA attestation, then Chinese Embassy/Consulate | India objected to China's accession |
The apostille and the attestation start the same way – the state step – and differ only at MEA and afterwards. If you are unsure, ask the employer, university or authority in writing which form it wants.
The Undergraduate Degree Apostille Process, Step by Step
- 1Check the document. Final degree or provisional certificate, names matching the passport, not laminated.
- 2Identify the awarding university and its state. For an autonomous or affiliated college, the degree is usually awarded by the affiliating university, and its state decides the route.
- 3Check e-Sanad. If the university is connected to MEA's e-Sanad system, online verification can replace the paper state step.
- 4University verification, if needed. Some states ask the university to confirm the degree first.
- 5State education department. The department of the university's state authenticates the registrar's signature. MEA's published list names, for example, the Regional Directors of Education for Delhi; in Kerala, educational certificates are authenticated through Norka Roots.
- 6MEA. Applications go through MEA's authorised collection agencies or its Branch Secretariats and Regional Passport Offices; MEA does not accept documents directly from the public. MEA adds the apostille.
- 7Return and check. The original comes back with the state stamp and the apostille.
For a non-Convention country, step 6 becomes MEA attestation, and the embassy (and in the Gulf the foreign ministry) follows. The undergraduate degree apostille process is the same for BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, BCA and similar programmes; only the university and state change.
Three-Year, Four-Year and Honours Bachelor's Programmes
Under the National Education Policy, the UGC's Curriculum and Credit Framework for Undergraduate Programmes introduced a four-year undergraduate structure with multiple entry and exit points. As reported when it was announced in December 2022, students can receive:
| Exit point | Award |
|---|---|
| After 1 year | UG certificate |
| After 2 years | UG diploma |
| After 3 years | Bachelor's degree |
| After 4 years | Bachelor's degree (honours) |
| After 4 years with a research project | Bachelor's degree (honours with research) |
What this means for legalisation:
- Each award is a university document and follows the university's route; the state step and MEA are the same.
- Exit certificates and diplomas are newer kinds of documents. We confirm before you send one that the state department will authenticate it.
- The award title matters abroad. Some universities and employers look at total years of study – a three-year bachelor's and a four-year honours degree may be treated differently for master's admission or equivalency.
- Keep transcripts that show credits and years, because receiving bodies may ask how long the programme was.
Traditional three-year degrees remain common and are legalised in exactly the same way.
UG Degree Certificate Attestation for Abroad Jobs
For most employers abroad, the bachelor's is the qualification that matters. UG degree certificate attestation for abroad employment usually depends on the destination's route and the job level.
UAE
Published guidance on UAE work permits links skill levels 1 and 2 to a bachelor's degree or higher. After MEA attestation, one online application on the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, made with UAE PASS, covers the UAE Embassy in New Delhi and UAE MOFA; the attested document is emailed with a reference number. Some long-term residence categories, such as Abu Dhabi's Green Visa for skilled employees, list an attested bachelor's degree among their requirements.
Saudi Arabia, Oman and Bahrain
These countries accept the MEA apostille, so a UG degree apostille is the final Indian step.
Qatar and Kuwait
Qatar requires qualifications issued outside Qatar to be attested by its mission in the issuing country; Kuwait's final ministry step is usually completed in Kuwait after the Kuwait Embassy in India.
Bachelor's Degree for Master's Admissions Abroad
Many Indian graduates use their bachelor's to apply for a master's abroad. Admissions offices often do not ask for an apostille at all.
- Direct records. Universities and credential evaluators frequently want transcripts or degree records sent directly by your university, in a sealed envelope or electronically. World Education Services, for example, asks for sealed envelopes sent directly by the institution or electronic delivery through its digital partnerships. Legalisation does not replace that.
- Germany. Indian apostilles have no effect in Germany. For study visas, APS India – part of the German Embassy's science section – verifies Indian academic documents from photocopies, and describes its certificate as generally required.
- Visa checklists. A student visa or scholarship list may still ask for an apostilled or attested degree, so check each list separately.
- Three-year degrees. Some universities abroad assess a three-year bachelor's differently from a four-year one for master's eligibility; ask the university or evaluator early.
Which Bachelor's Programmes Does This Cover?
| Programme | Usually awarded by | Route notes |
|---|---|---|
| BA, BSc, BCom | University (often through an affiliated or autonomous college) | Affiliating university's state |
| BBA, BCA, BMS | University | Affiliating university's state |
| BSW, BLib, BJMC | University | Standard university route |
| BEd | University | Often needed with subject qualifications for teaching posts |
| BTech, BE | University or institute | Engineering route – see our engineering page |
| MBBS, LLB, BHM | University or council-linked institutions | Profession routes – see our profession pages |
| Distance or online bachelor's | University recognised for distance or online education | University route; acceptance abroad varies |
Profession-specific degrees have their own pages because their regulators abroad raise questions that a general bachelor's does not.
Affiliated and Autonomous Colleges
Most Indian undergraduates study at a college, not at the university itself. This matters for legalisation:
- Affiliated colleges teach the programme, but the final award is made by the affiliating university. The route follows that university's state.
- Autonomous colleges set their own syllabus and examinations, but the award is still usually conferred by the affiliating university; check whose name and signature appear on the certificate.
- Constituent colleges are part of the university itself.
- College-issued documents – such as a college leaving certificate or a character certificate – are different from the university's award and follow their own route.
If the certificate carries the college principal's signature as well as the university's, the state step authenticates the university signature. We check the certificate before planning, because this one detail decides which office handles it.
Distance and Online Bachelor's Programmes
In 2022 the UGC amended its Open and Distance Learning and Online Programmes Regulations so that qualifications from recognised institutions obtained through open and distance learning or online programmes are treated on a par with conventional ones. A distance or online bachelor's therefore follows the awarding university's route like any other. Acceptance abroad is a separate question: some employers, licensing bodies, equivalency authorities and immigration offices treat distance or online study differently, so check with the receiving body before you start.
e-Sanad, DigiLocker and Digital Records
Some universities now upload qualifications to the National Academic Depository, which is accessed through DigiLocker, and some are connected to MEA's e-Sanad system, launched in 2017, for online verification. Where your university is connected, e-Sanad can replace the paper state step, and the legalisation can move faster. A printed DigiLocker copy is not the same as the original paper award, however; whether a digital record can be legalised, and how, depends on the university's connection to e-Sanad. We confirm this for your university before planning.
When Is Bachelor Degree Attestation the Right Choice?
Bachelor degree attestation through the embassy is right when the destination is outside the Apostille Convention – the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait being the usual examples – and immigration, labour or education authorities want the Indian chain followed by their own embassy.
It is not the right choice in four common situations:
- The destination is a Convention party. Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, the UK, the USA and most of Europe use the UG degree apostille instead, when legalisation is asked for.
- The university abroad wants direct records. A legalised certificate does not replace transcripts sent by your university.
- Germany. Indian apostilles have no effect there; study visas use APS India.
- China. India objected to China's accession, so MEA attestation and Chinese legalisation are needed.
Before you request bachelor degree attestation, ask the employer, university or authority in writing which form it wants.
Who This Page Is For
- Graduates with a job offer abroad whose permit depends on a bachelor's.
- Students applying for a master's abroad who need to know whether an apostille is part of their route.
- Graduates moving with a spouse who needs the qualification for a dependant or work visa.
- People applying for long-term residence categories that ask for an attested bachelor's.
- Graduates of four-year honours programmes or holders of NEP exit awards.
If you also hold a master's or a doctorate, our postgraduate and doctoral pages cover the full ladder. If your bachelor's is in engineering, medicine, law or hospitality, our profession pages cover the regulator questions.
School Certificates Behind the Bachelor's
Some employers and authorities want the full chain – the Class 10 and 12 certificates behind the bachelor's. School certificates follow the board's route before MEA, which differs from the university route. If your file needs both, we plan them in parallel so they reach MEA together.
Mark Sheets, Consolidated Mark Sheets and Transcripts
Bachelor's files often involve more than the main certificate:
- Semester or year-wise mark sheets may be asked for by employers who want to see subjects and grades.
- Consolidated mark sheets or transcripts are often wanted by universities abroad, usually sent directly by your university.
- Provisional certificates are issued before the final award; many destinations want the final certificate.
- Migration certificates are rarely needed abroad.
Whether each document needs legalisation depends on the receiving body. We ask for the written list before planning.
Understanding Each Stamp on a Bachelor's Certificate
The university's verification
Some states first want the university to confirm the award. The university checks its records and either stamps the original or sends confirmation to the state authority.
The state education department
The department of the state where the university is located authenticates the registrar's signature. Where the university is connected to e-Sanad, online verification can replace the paper step.
The Ministry of External Affairs
MEA places an apostille for a Convention country or an attestation stamp for a non-Convention country. MEA states that it is not responsible for the contents of a document; it certifies the preceding signature.
The embassy and the foreign ministry
For non-Convention countries, the destination embassy in New Delhi legalises the document after MEA. The UAE combines its embassy and foreign-ministry steps online; Kuwait completes the final step inside Kuwait.
Working With Your University
The university is often the slowest stage of a bachelor's file. A few habits help:
- Check that your name matches across the certificate, mark sheets and passport.
- Keep your enrolment number, roll number and year of passing ready.
- Ask whether the university sends transcripts directly abroad, and how long it takes.
- Plan around results and convocation, when offices are busiest.
- Keep copies of every application and acknowledgement.
Requests to the university for transcripts, duplicates or corrections are made by you, because the university usually requires the graduate's own application.
Recognition and Equivalence: What Legalisation Cannot Answer
An apostille or attestation proves that your bachelor's is genuine and properly signed. It does not make a foreign authority treat it as equal to a local qualification. Recognition and equivalence are decided by the receiving country's own bodies, which may look at the university's status, the length of study, the mode (regular, distance or online) and your subjects. In the UAE, for example, equivalency by the higher-education authority is a separate process that uses the attested qualification as its starting point. If recognition matters for your plans, contact the relevant authority early.
Teaching Posts With a BEd
Schools abroad, especially in the Gulf, hire Indian graduates as teachers. These files usually need the subject bachelor's, the BEd and sometimes a master's, each through its own university's state. Teacher licensing or approval, where it applies, is a separate process run by the destination's education authority. We prepare the legalised qualifications; the licence itself is applied for through that authority.
Subject Notes for Common Bachelor's Programmes
The legalisation route does not change with the subject, but what employers and authorities abroad ask for often does.
- BCom and BBA: finance and administration roles in the Gulf usually need only the bachelor's; some ask for mark sheets to confirm accounting subjects.
- BCA and BSc in computer science: IT employers often ask for mark sheets showing subjects, because work-permit categories can depend on the field of study.
- BSc in the sciences: laboratory and quality-control roles may want subject details; master's admissions abroad usually want detailed transcripts.
- BA: teaching, administration and customer-facing roles often need only the main certificate.
- BSW and development studies: NGOs and international agencies sometimes ask for legalised qualifications only at the visa stage.
Planning Around Joining and Admission Deadlines
Most bachelor's files are tied to a date – a joining day, a visa appointment or a semester start. Work backwards:
- 1Collect every written checklist – employer, university, visa and scholarship.
- 2Separate what must be sent directly from what must be legalised.
- 3Request transcripts and university letters early, because they are outside our control.
- 4Start the state step for every qualification at the same time.
- 5Leave room for the slowest university, often the oldest record.
We share realistic estimates at each stage, but we do not promise fixed days. If a deadline is very close, tell us at the first contact and we will say honestly what can be done in time.
Changing Jobs Abroad Later
A bachelor's legalised for one job is often needed again for the next – a new employer, a promotion, a residence renewal or a long-term residence category. Keep the original flat and safe, never laminate it, and keep copies of every stamp; for the UAE, keep the emailed attestation and its reference number. If you move to a different country, the new country may need its own route: an apostille placed for Saudi Arabia does not work in the UAE, and an attestation for the UAE does not replace an apostille elsewhere. Both can be placed on the same original, applied for separately.
Family Files
Graduates moving abroad often bring a spouse and children later. A family file may include a marriage certificate for the spouse's visa and birth certificates for children, which follow personal-document routes before MEA. We plan them with your qualification so they reach MEA in one batch where possible.
Foreign Nationals With Indian Bachelor's Qualifications
Students from Nepal, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, African countries, the Gulf and elsewhere who studied in India often need their Indian bachelor's legalised for work or further study in a third country. The route is exactly the same as for an Indian citizen: the state step for the awarding university, then MEA, then the embassy or apostille. The passport copy will be from their own country, and the name on the certificate must match it. Documents issued in their home country – such as school certificates – are legalised in that country, not through MEA.
Scholarships, Fellowships and Exchange Programmes
Government scholarships, university fellowships and exchange programmes abroad publish their own document lists, and these lists change from year to year. Some ask for apostilled qualifications at the application stage; others ask only after selection, for the visa. Some accept scans until arrival and check originals in person. Read the current year's list, note the stage at which each document is needed, and avoid legalising anything before it is actually required – especially if your final results or convocation are still pending.
Confidentiality
We share your documents only with the official stages that need them, we do not contact your current or future employer unless you ask us to, and we do not publish your name or file details.
How the UG Degree Apostille and Attestation Process Works With Us
- 1Route check. Send scans of your bachelor's, passport and the receiving body's list, and tell us the destination and purpose.
- 2Requirement check. We separate what needs legalisation from what must be sent directly by your university.
- 3Document review. We check names, titles and the condition of each original.
- 4University verification, if needed. Some states ask the university to confirm first.
- 5State step. Paper authentication or e-Sanad, in the state of the awarding university.
- 6MEA. Apostille or attestation through MEA's authorised collection channel.
- 7Embassy and foreign ministry. For the UAE, the online process; for Qatar and Kuwait, their embassies.
- 8Return. Your original comes back with a note of every stamp.
How Long Does a UG Degree Apostille Take?
| Stage | What decides the time | Indicative pattern |
|---|---|---|
| Route and requirement check | How quickly you share details | Usually the quickest stage |
| University verification | The university's verification desk | Can be the longest stage |
| State education department or e-Sanad | State workload | Varies |
| MEA | Collection channel and processing | Generally predictable |
| Embassy / foreign ministry | Country and season | Varies |
| Direct transcripts to universities | Your university | Outside the legalisation chain |
Indicative only – we do not promise fixed days. We share an estimated timeline after reviewing your documents.
What Is the Total Made Of?
We do not publish charges, because the total depends on the file. It includes any university verification, the state step, MEA, the embassy and foreign-ministry stages or the apostille, translation if needed, and courier or pickup and return. Charges that universities make for their own letters, duplicates or transcripts are separate. Our team shares the exact total after reviewing your documents.
Three Typical Situations
These are illustrative examples based on common requests; names are changed and details simplified.
A BCom graduate joining a firm in Dubai
Rahul's offer is for an accountant role at skill level 2, and HR asks for his attested BCom. The certificate goes through the state step for his affiliating university, MEA attestation and the UAE online application.
A BSc graduate applying for a master's in Germany
Sneha's German university works through APS India, which takes photocopies, so she does not need an apostille for admission. She keeps her original safe for later use.
A BA graduate moving to Riyadh with her husband
Fatima needs her BA for a dependant visa and a future job. Her university is connected to e-Sanad, so online verification replaces the paper state step, and MEA adds the UG degree apostille – the final Indian step for Saudi Arabia.
Common Mistakes With Bachelor's Files
- Sending the certificate to the college's state instead of the affiliating university's state, when they differ.
- Getting an apostille for the UAE, Qatar or Kuwait. They need attestation.
- Attesting for Saudi Arabia through the embassy. It accepts the apostille.
- Apostilling for Germany. Indian apostilles have no effect there.
- Apostilling transcripts that must be sent directly to a university abroad.
- Relying on a DigiLocker printout without checking whether it can be legalised.
- Using SDM or a notary for a university qualification. Neither is part of the route.
- Laminating the original. The UAE does not attest laminated documents.
Special Cases
Provisional certificates
Use a provisional certificate only if the receiving body accepts it; many want the final award, so you may need to legalise it again later.
Degrees from renamed or merged universities
The route follows the university named on the certificate; older records may take longer to verify.
Duplicate certificates
A duplicate issued by the university can be legalised; keep the university's letter explaining it.
Name differences
A spelling difference or a name changed after marriage needs supporting documents.
Documents needed for two countries
An apostille and attestation can both be placed on one original, applied for separately.
Foreign bachelor's degrees
A bachelor's from a university abroad follows that country's route, not India's.
Older qualifications and faded paper
A damaged or faded original may be refused at the state step or by MEA. Ask the university about a duplicate before starting.
Exit awards later upgraded
A student who left after two years with a UG diploma and later returned to complete the bachelor's may hold both documents. Usually only the final award is needed abroad; legalise the earlier one only if the receiving body asks for it.
Graduates who studied through more than one college
Transfers between colleges under the same university do not change the route. If the university itself changed, the award follows the university named on the final certificate.
What a UG Degree Apostille Does Not Do
- It does not certify your marks or grade your qualification.
- It does not decide equivalence, master's eligibility or job level abroad.
- It does not replace transcripts sent directly by your university.
- It does not guarantee a visa, job or admission.
Questions to Ask the Receiving Body
- Apostille or attestation – and is your list current?
- Do you accept a three-year bachelor's, or do you need four years of study?
- Do you need mark sheets or transcripts, and must they be sent directly?
- Do you need school certificates as well?
- Is there a joining or application deadline?
Translations
Most Indian bachelor's certificates are issued in English or bilingually. Where a certificate or mark sheet is only in Hindi or a regional language, or where an authority asks for a translation into its own language, we confirm whether, when and by whom it must be done, because a translation done at the wrong stage may have to be repeated.
Safe Handling of Your Original
We record each original when it reaches us, keep it in our office between stages, and return it by tracked courier or in person. Your details are shared only with the official stages that need them.
When Your Certificate Comes Back: What to Check
- The state education department's stamp or e-Sanad record.
- MEA's apostille or attestation, with your name and the document described correctly.
- The embassy's legalisation and, for the UAE, the emailed attestation and its reference number.
- That your name and programme title are correct throughout.
Keep colour scans of the certificate and every stamp. Employers and universities abroad often accept a scan for an initial check while the original travels, and a scan is invaluable if the original is ever lost in transit.
Pre-Submission Checklist
- Awarding university and its state identified, or e-Sanad confirmed.
- Apostille or attestation decided.
- Final or provisional certificate decided with the receiving body.
- Original not laminated or damaged.
- Name matches the passport.
- The receiving body's written list in hand.

Frequently Asked Questions on UG Degree Apostille & Attestation
What is a UG degree apostille?
MEA's apostille on an Indian bachelor's after the state step, for Convention countries.
What is bachelor degree attestation?
The non-Convention route: state step, MEA attestation and the destination embassy.
Is a bachelor degree certificate apostille valid in Saudi Arabia?
Yes. Saudi Arabia has accepted the apostille since 7 December 2022.
What is the undergraduate degree apostille process?
University verification if needed, the state step or e-Sanad, then MEA's apostille.
Is UG degree certificate attestation for abroad jobs in the UAE needed?
Usually yes for roles that require a bachelor's. After MEA, the UAE online process covers the Embassy and MOFA.
My college is in one state and the university in another. Which state attests?
The state of the university that awards the qualification.
Can a four-year honours degree be apostilled?
Yes. It follows the awarding university's route like any bachelor's. Keep transcripts that show the four years of study, because some bodies abroad ask.
Can a UG certificate or UG diploma exit award be legalised?
Usually through the university's route; we confirm before you send it.
Do universities abroad need an apostille on my bachelor's?
Many want transcripts sent directly by your university instead. Check their instructions.
Does Germany need an apostille?
No. Indian apostilles have no effect there; APS India verifies records for study visas.
Can a distance or online bachelor's be legalised?
Yes, through the awarding university's route. UGC treats such qualifications from recognised institutions on a par with regular ones, but acceptance abroad varies, so check first.
Can a DigiLocker copy be apostilled?
It depends on the university's connection to e-Sanad; we confirm first.
Can MEA apostille a photocopy?
No. MEA does not legalise photocopies, so the original issued by the university is needed at every stage.
Is SDM or a notary needed?
No. Neither is part of the route for a university qualification; the state education department and MEA are the official stages.
How long does a UG degree apostille take?
It depends on the university and destination. We share an estimated timeline after reviewing your documents.
What do your UG degree apostille services cost?
It depends on the documents and route. Our team shares the exact total after reviewing your documents.

UG Degree Apostille and Bachelor Degree Attestation for Jobs and Study Abroad
Reliable Attestation helps graduates prepare their Indian bachelor's qualifications for jobs, master's admissions and residence abroad. A UG degree apostille is the certificate the Ministry of External Affairs adds to a BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, BCA or other bachelor's after the education department of the state where the awarding university is located has authenticated it, for use in Apostille Convention countries such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, the UK and the USA. For the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and other non-Convention countries, bachelor degree attestation is needed instead: the state step, MEA attestation, the destination embassy and, in the Gulf, its foreign ministry.
The undergraduate degree apostille process starts with the awarding university, not the college. Most students study at affiliated or autonomous colleges, but the final award is usually made by the affiliating university, and that university's state decides the route. Some states ask the university to verify first; some universities are connected to MEA's e-Sanad system, which can replace the paper state step. A bachelor degree certificate apostille and an attestation begin the same way and differ only at MEA and afterwards.
Indian undergraduate study has changed. Under the UGC's Curriculum and Credit Framework, four-year programmes offer a UG certificate after one year, a UG diploma after two, a bachelor's after three and an honours degree – or honours with research – after four. Each award follows the university's route, though some bodies abroad treat a three-year and a four-year programme differently for master's admission or equivalency, so we suggest keeping transcripts that show your years of study.
UG degree certificate attestation for abroad jobs is the most common request we see, because the bachelor's often decides work-permit levels and residence categories; in the UAE, published guidance links skill levels 1 and 2 to a bachelor's or higher. For master's admissions, universities and evaluators frequently want transcripts sent directly by your university instead of legalised copies, and in Germany Indian apostilles have no effect, with APS India verifying records for study visas from photocopies. Distance and online bachelor's programmes from recognised institutions follow the same university route, although acceptance abroad varies, and graduates moving later between countries can place both an apostille and an attestation on the same original, applied for separately.
We are a private facilitation service, not a university, UGC, state department, MEA or embassy, and we work from one office in New Delhi, serving clients across India by pickup or courier. MEA does not legalise photocopies, and the UAE does not attest laminated documents. We do not promise fixed days; we share an honest estimate after reviewing your documents. The total depends on the documents, the university and the destination, and our team shares the exact total after reviewing your documents.
